All about me..
Hi! I’m Bev Fehringer, owner of Black Raven Pottery in East Aurora, NY. Welcome to my blog, Mud and Mindfulness.
I began doing pottery nearly twenty years ago as a hobby while I was working full time as a Registered Nurse and Director of Nursing. I have entirely taught myself how to do pottery and am still learning new techniques today.
After discovering I had a hidden talent and a love for pottery, I began to sell my pieces at various craft shows. In 2018 I was accepted as a juried artist with the Arts & Craftsmen Guild on the Historic Roycroft Campus. I moved my shop and studio to the Campus and am now an Artist-In-Residence on the Historic Roycroft Campus in East Aurora, an amazing little village where my husband and I were both raised.
Over the last few years I developed a sincere interest in mindfulness, doing things with intention and being in the moment. So I decided to combine these two loves and create this blog.
I create mostly functional pottery that you can use every day, but I also love to make fun and decorative pieces. I create my pieces both on the pottery wheel and by hand building from a slab of clay.
Black Raven Pottery pieces make great gifts for all occasions. I try to keep my prices reasonable, but a lot of time, energy, materials and of course, love go into each piece.
